Present:

Fed (Chair), Rachel, Andjelka, Yiannis, Markus, Christoph, Dragana and several others

Notes: Rachel

Goals:

Managing In-Kind Software Contributions

Rachel and Fed have been speaking with Aperjita Verma, a CEC committee member who was later hired by Rubin to manage the In-Kind process as a whole.

We identified a core issue in TVS in that we need to increase our management skills for software projects in order to meaningfully guide and track these projects. We expressed the concern that the requirements identified in the Q4 2021 reports were very high level and not detailed enough for this purpose.

Fed asked if any of the In-Kind teams had received an acknowledgment of the reports they have submitted, and none of the representatives seem to have received one

Fed and Rachel also discussed providing training regarding formal software training in developing and tracking requirements, and Aperjita was open to this.

Fed asked for other questions and concerns that she should discuss with Aperjita.

Yiannis indicated that he doesn’t have questions at this stage.

Fed asked how the teams felt about the report template; Yiannis felt that it was sufficient without being burdensome, and included a Gantt chart completed separately. Fed indicated that this would be a good thing to have from all of the In-Kind teams.

Andjelka felt that it was find to provide a gantt chart but noted that their team already has submitted an Excel spreadsheet of actions rather than a diagram.
