Note that there will be no Task Force meeting next week due to the Rubin PCW.

Fed noted that the work of the software task force will extend over the usual 1 yr task force duration. This task force will get projects started and continue through to the end of 2022, after which a longer term group will be created.

Soliciting Software Project Concepts for TVS

Fed shared this form to be shared with the collaboration members and enable everyone to propose concepts for software development projects.

The group agreed that software proposed by the international in-kind teams should also be recorded through this form, so that all software concepts are described in a single place.

The group discussed how long a text should be required to describe the concept.

Agreed to include an abstract including motivation and an optional entry for more detailed description.

Agreed that the form should include a box to indicate whether this is an in-kind contribution and whether it is directable or non-directable.

Christoph endorsed Yiannis' recommendation that connections between project proposals should be indicated, along with details of the software environment under which the software is expected to operate.

Rachel felt the question regarding management of the software projects needed some clarification, so more specific options were added.

Dragana suggested that once software concepts are proposed, members might want to opt to join or consult on projects suggested. It was agreed that a separate form would be needed to accumulate these responses.

Each project team would be expected to complete the current form once, but a question would be added to enable teams to identify members of their existing development teams.

Rachel suggested that once a list of software concepts is available, we should host a workshop where the project leads can present a short talk about their concept, after which all members of TVS could opt to participate in the projects.
